Tim Carter
Chief Executive Officer
Tim Carter has a successful track record in developing and commercialising diagnostic products and is an inventor of enhanced chemiluminescence. Tim has been a pioneer of piezofilm technology since 1993, and founded Vivacta in 2006. Prior to his work on piezofilm, Tim was a senior researcher with the Battelle Research Organisation in Geneva, held product and business development and international marketing positions with Corning Medical, Whatman and ran the UK operations of a Swiss healthcare business consultancy, Corporate Dynamics SA, for six years.
Oliver Boucher
Chief Business Officer
Oliver Boucher leads Vivacta’s commercial and corporate development activities and has a successful record of business development and commercial alliance building in the pharmaceutical industry. Oliver has over seven years experience in big pharma, holding a number of senior positions in business development at GSK where he was instrumental in the successful negotiation and execution of numerous licensing and business development transactions. He also has an extensive track record of strategic partnering and acquisition transactions in entrepreneurial start-up companies, including roles as Chief Business Officer at Sigmoid Pharma and as Vice-President, Commercial Development, at Trigen.
Steve Ross
Director of R&D
Steve Ross has over a decade of experience specialising in piezofilm technology and diagnostic development and has been instrumental in taking Vivacta's piezofilm technology platform to "manufacturing-ready" status. At Vivacta, Steve directs the development of new assays using the Company's piezofilm technology. He has co-authored over twenty scientific papers, fifteen patent applications and three book chapters, including "Piezo-Optical Sensors", published in the 2006 Encyclopedia of Sensors.
Nigel Newton
Finance Director
With strong career experience in managing R&D companies, business administration and a track record in investment banking and corporate finance, Nigel Newton brings a wealth of relevant experience to Vivacta. His former positions include Business Administration Officer and Financial Director for Red Bull Racing (formerly Jaguar Racing Limited and Stewart Racing Limited), Chief Financial Officer to the British Racing Drivers Club, and served in the corporate finance departments of two leading investment banks. Nigel is a Chartered Accountant and also holds the position of Company Secretary.
Sonja Jones
Director of Quality
Sonja Jones is responsible for structuring the Company's quality management system and ensuring operational compliance with ISO 13485:2003 and FDA QSR 820. Prior to joining Vivacta, Sonja held a quality/compliance management position at Genzyme Diagnostics (now acquired by Sekisui), and worked at a flexible packaging converter/printer, where she was responsible for all quality-related matters, including certification to international standards and laboratory management. Sonja is an analytical chemist.
